Hey, I just woke up but I'm okay. I was cursed. I was a pirate. Were you a pirate? Anyway, I'm me again. And I wanted to say [ A breath. ] I don't resent you for staying with Derek and Isaac. I get it. I actually do. If you live with me and my mom, she's -- she's your mom. Not, your mom, I don't mean like that, I mean that you lived for a year without having to answer to anyone. [ Except Derek ] And you know we're still best friends. If you don't, we are. I hope things didn't get too crazy... Did you know pirates hired butchers to be medics? Anyway, you're probably asleep. But, if you want lunch today, let me know?
[ That's one long voicemail there Scott. It's almost an hour later by the time he gets a message back. ]
hey dude. i couldn't find you this weekend but i'm glad you're okay? i wasn't a pirate. mostly i stayed out of the way. can we talk about the other stuff in person? i'll come over and you can feed me. 8D
i was on a pirate ship. the captain was a bear. an actual bear. and THOR was first mate. of course we can. i'm here for most of the day, getting people organized over the network device.
[ That's the last message he sends. Twenty minutes later he's parking his jeep outside the apartment building Scott's staying in and it's easy to find his way to their place and knock the door.
[ It was more weird. And confusing. And he didn't like the bear. Well, medic him didn't. Former medical student. It's a haze of memories which are being sorted out including a very not so subtle flirtation with Rapunzel.
He's in the living room already so it takes him zero seconds - more like, five - to get up and answer the door. Really, Stiles he's proud his best friend can use a door. ]
Hey. [ And after a second. ] Come on in. [ He should probably start something to eat. He got carried away with prep and lists and plans and things. So, he's closing the door behind him and then retreating to the refrigerator! ] I could make sandwiches. Or heat something up.
[ Scott pulls open the bottom drawer, grabbing some lunch meat (it's a double meat kind of day), some cheese, lettuce, mustard (two kinds, just in case!) before grabbing the bread from above the fridge. ]
Why? [ Boring weekend? Because hanging out with Isaac is weirder than hanging out with Derek. ]
I did. And I didn't like him. He was in the Navy. [ As Scott assembles sandwiches. ] Weird that I haven't met him in person, yet. [ Really, really weird. ] What kind of pirate do you think you would've been?
[ He opens his backpack because he brought soda! and chips! Just setting them on the table. ] So you guys are okay right? Nobody got run through with a cutlass or anything?
My mom wasn't a pirate. And I'm fine. She said she was worried but she saw me on the network. [ He puts everything back in the fridge. ] No cutlass accidents. [ A beat. ] Cutlass?
[ Bringing the plates avec sandwiches over to the table. He'll take a seat, opening the bag of chips and taking a handful out. Yes, he has manners. What are you talking about? ]
... Kissing. [ That's all he says. He picks up his sandwich. Oh, this is totally a delicate way of getting into it. ] Have you and Derek ever kissed? [ Taking a bite. ]

So, you don't have a leftover peg leg or anything, right?

No peg leg.

I wasn't that kind of pirate.

I mean I'd have made a great pirate. Did you see Chase though? And his hair, oh my god.

A cool pirate. Maybe with an eye patch. That would be great.
