Stiles!

[He opens the door to his own room and there's Stiles on his bed, smelling just like him, and it's definitely conflicting-]

What are you doing?

[studmuffin]

You're back.

[ For a moment he just feels conflicted. Confused and pleased and kind of guilty as he pushes up into a seated position. There's a crease from Derek's pillow on his cheek. ]

I, uh -. Nothing?

[lupusalpha]

You smell-

[Not the time-]

What's the last thing you remember?

[studmuffin]

[ He looks at Derek quizzically, then runs a hand through his hair. ]

Sacrifices? That's what you mean, right? Because you went back.

[lupusalpha]

That's what I mean.

What do you remember, Stiles?

[studmuffin]

It's the day after you guys were going after Cora and Boyd. [ He crosses his arms over his chest. Derek seems different already. ]

Scott told me you managed it? I was at school so I don't - I haven't seen you yet.

[lupusalpha]

[He's still. It's been almost two months since then]

Yeah, we managed it.

[studmuffin]

[ He stands, he's not wearing shoes because sleeping at the McCalls lasted a day before he got cabin fever. ]

You're after?

[lupusalpha]

[He just nods]

[studmuffin]

Okay.

[ He breathes out, steps closer. ] Is it bad?

[lupusalpha]

[He nods again]

[studmuffin]

[ Right in front of him now. Sleep mussed and concerned. ]

Do I need to know?

[lupusalpha]

[He doesn't want to say anything, but then:]

Probably not.

[studmuffin]

I'm tired.

[ Gaze flicking back to the bed. ] You look tired.

[lupusalpha]

I need to shower, first.

[He can't stand the smell of it, anymore]

[studmuffin]

Okay.

[ He shrugs. ] I should ... I mean now you're back I can't steal your room, right? [ Being sixteen and stupidly confused about needing someone sucks, just fyi. ]

[lupusalpha]

Stay.

[He needs something. Someone.]

[studmuffin]

Go shower.

[ He takes a step back, towards the bed. ]

[lupusalpha]

[He grabs his things and goes]

[studmuffin]

[ Stiles sits on the end of his bed and waits it out, tries to think about how he feels now that Derek's ahead of him.

About what this strange awkwardness under the alpha's skin means. ]

[He comes back ten minutes later, dressed in sweats and a henly, no tight jeans to be found.

He nudges Stiles over as he gets on his own bed]

[studmuffin]

[ Crawling up beside him. ]

Are you okay?

[lupusalpha]

[He wants to nod his head, but instead he just goes silent, turns, and reaches for Stiles.

Everything is falling apart but he's not going to say it.]

[studmuffin]

Oh, hey.

[ Instinctively he just wraps his arms around Derek. One hand buries in his hair and the other sits at the base of his spine. ]

I'll need to talk to Scott, but I don't-

[He doesn't want to leave, yet.]
